Features of Akbari Pistachio:
- Appearance: Very elongated and large, with a bone-colored shell and naturally open mouth (“smiling” pistachio), giving it a distinct and luxurious look.
- Kernel: Large, elongated, and flavorful with a reddish hue. The kernel-to-shell ratio is relatively high.
- Size: Typically classified into sizes 20–22, 22–24, and 24–26 oz. Akbari is considered one of the largest pistachio types.
- Taste: Exceptionally delicious, sweet, and oily; excellent for both raw consumption and roasting.
- Cultivation Area: Primarily grown in Kerman Province, especially Sirjan.
